The Secretariat serves as IYCGE's senior operational leadership body and is responsible for the organization's day-to-day administration, institutional coordination, operational management, and the implementation of decisions adopted by the Executive Board.

Alicia Freire is a Brazilian social anthropology student specialising in human rights, migration, and gender equality. She is currently completing her Undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology at SOAS University of London, where her academic work explores the intersections of cultural identity, gender inequality, and international law, with a particular focus on migration and human rights frameworks.
Alicia currently serves as Deputy Director of the Secretariat at the International Youth Council on Gender Equality (IYCGE), where she supports the Director in leading the Council's Secretariat, helping to coordinate strategic initiatives, organisational development, and cross-team collaboration across a global, youth-led gender equality network. She previously held roles within IYCGE's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department, progressing from Intern to Administrative Associate to DEI Specialist, where she contributed to research, policy input, and the design of inclusive programmes and campaigns.

Diletta is an International Affairs professional with a keen interest in ideology, power dynamics, and political narratives. Born and raised in Italy, her academic and professional journey has brought her to France, Russia, Bulgaria, and the US. A self-proclaimed language enthusiast, Diletta is fluent in Italian and English, has working knowledge of Spanish and Russian, and can hold her own in French.
Diletta’s professional profile combines experience in public affairs, communications, and multilateral diplomacy at the European Union Delegation to the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations, and the NATO Defense College. Following a Master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences Po Bordeaux and LUISS Guido Carli, she is currently a PhD candidate in Welfare, Diversity and Gender Studies. Her main research interests are Russian and post-Soviet studies, sociology, and demography.
Martina Hartwig C. is a Chilean sociologist specialized in gender equality, movement infrastructure, and comparative political research. She holds a degree in Sociology with double distinction from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and is currently a PhD candidate in Political Science and International Relations at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she also completed a Master's in Gender Studies and Public Policy. Her research on democratic backsliding and the retrenchment of gender policy across Chile, Brazil, and Argentina was published in the Revista Uruguaya de Ciencia Política. Martina currently serves as a Secretariat Member of the International Youth Council on Gender Equality (IYCGE), having previously served as National Ambassador, where she coordinated Chile's national research team for the Global Perspectives report on gender equality. Her professional experience spans coordination of a European gender-learning platform at Fabulous Feminists, documentary review for UN Women and the OAS, facilitation of cultural humility training at UC Berkeley's Center for Cultural Humility, and national programme management raising female labour participation in Chile's forestry sector from 13% to 17%. She has presented her work at the Paris Youth Summit along OECD Youthwise, and facilitated EADI's international gender-justice conference in Lisbon.

Jeremy Han

Jeremy is a settler learning, living and working between the ancestral, traditional and unceded territories of the xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam) people. Jeremy is an arts student at the University of British Columbia and is passionate about community, governance, leadership and creating spaces where people feel heard and represented. Jeremy brings diverse leadership experiences in roles across organizations. From administration, advocacy, communications, compliance, governance, marketing, project management, policy, operations, and strategy among other areas. He has been involved in gender equality related advocacy and initiative since high school. His interests and passion regarding gender equality spans numerous sectors. With specific emphasis on how gender equality interacts with public policy, social structures and systems along with our society. Outside of school, Jeremy enjoys music in every capacity and being involved with the not for & nonprofit sector! He is thrilled to be a part of IYCGE and the organization’s secretariat and to be able to advocate for various goals and initiatives. He is also looking forward to working alongside other like minded people as part of the organization!
