Canada

Elaine is a second-year student at Columbia University studying Political Science and Economics, with a minor in Philosophy. She has dedicated her life’s work towards diplomacy and public service, co-chairing her city’s youth council, representing her city in Washington, DC, and continuous policy research. Elaine applies her scientific acumen from growing up in Waterloo, Ontario to her advocacy work by reorienting perspectives on innovation and technology. Through this, she has become a youth delegate, speaking at the United Nations on international security, economic policy and women’s rights. Her experience includes consulting, legal work, research, think tanks, and government. 

The International Youth Council on Gender Equality represents the voices of young leaders from around the world, working together to break down barriers and create lasting change.
