The organizations deliver services including assistance for survivors of gender-based violence and support for communities facing the crisis. The cuts come as violence continues to escalate in Haiti, increasing pressure on local organizations providing support to women and girls. UN Women warned that reduced funding is putting these organizations’ ability to continue their work at risk.

Pakistan precinct suspends all 78 officers and staff over alleged rape at police station

All 78 officers and staff at Lahore Police Station were suspended after a 20-year-old woman with learning disabilities alleged that an assistant sub-inspector for raping her inside the station. The officials said all were suspended for not reporting or preventing the incident. Moreover, the case has been delayed due to the poor accountability of police records and sexual violence in Pakistan, with activists citing a national rape conviction rate of roughly 0.5% and rising crime rates against women
