Maya Mohamad Yehia Mohamad Hafez Bashir 

Egypt

Maya Bashir is an Egyptian psychologist, researcher, and gender equality advocate with a background in clinical psychology. She is a member of the Coalition of Feminists for Social Change (COFEM) and a Teaching Assistant as well as a Research Member at the British University in Egypt (BUE), where her work focuses on evidence-informed approaches to mental health and psychological research. Through her clinical training, community engagement, and involvement in youth-led initiatives, Maya has contributed to projects promoting mental wellbeing, gender equality, and the prevention of gender-based violence. Her interests lie at the intersection of psychology, gender, and youth empowerment, with a particular focus on translating research into community-driven action. She is passionate about fostering inclusive dialogue, advancing survivor-centered and evidence-informed approaches, and empowering young people to drive meaningful social change.
