Remi Takahashi

Japan

Remi Takahashi is a Japanese youth advocate and researcher advancing gender equality, environmental justice, and inclusive development. She began her advocacy in Tokyo by implementing a menstrual equity initiative that challenged stigma and promoted reproductive health education for young people and families. Since then, she has worked with organizations including the World Wildlife Fund and the International Rescue Committee, supporting women-led environmental conservation, refugee inclusion, and survivor-centered responses to gender-based violence.  As a Japanese delegate to the G20 Youth Summit 2026 and the World Bank Group Youth Summit, Remi also contributes to global policy discussions on food security, global health, and the future of work. Through research, advocacy, and cross-cultural collaboration, she is committed to turning policy into meaningful action and empowering communities to build a more just and sustainable future.

The International Youth Council on Gender Equality represents the voices of young leaders from around the world, working together to break down barriers and create lasting change.
