Intergovernmental Affairs

The Department of Intergovernmental Affairs manages IYCGE’s relations with governments, international organizations, and global institutions. It serves as the Council’s diplomatic channel, fostering collaboration, dialogue, and policy exchange across borders to advance Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
The department engages with the United Nations, regional bodies, and national representatives to strengthen IYCGE’s presence in global debates and policymaking. Through negotiation, research, and partnership building, it ensures that the voices of youth are represented in international discussions on gender equality and human rights.

Senior Interns in the Intergovernmental Affairs Department support the Council’s diplomatic outreach by preparing briefing notes, monitoring global policy developments, and assisting with intergovernmental correspondence. They help coordinate meetings with UN agencies, government partners, and international stakeholders to strengthen IYCGE’s global presence.
